O’Doodles toys re-opens in new location in Chestnut Hill

O’Doodles toy store in Chestnut Hill opened at its new location, 8532 Germantown Ave, Friday morning. The new store is just two blocks further up the hill from its original home at 8335 Germantown.

Owner Fran O’Donnell says his new location at on the corner of Germantown and Evergreen avenues offers several benefits; more foot traffic, his family owns this building, and it’s closer to the Children of America daycare center.

O’Donnell says he is in talks with the managers of the daycare center to possibly run activities for kids featuring some of his toys like legos.

There is a new mix of merchandise, in additional to traditional toys and games, O’Donnell says he’s believes there an unmet demand for baby clothes and gifts. “If you go back five or six years ago, there were stores on the avenue like Mais Enfants (Boutique), Seedlings, and Childrens Place (that offered childrens clothes) there is a void now,” O’Donnell said.
