Ocean Spray breaks ground on Pa. bottling plant

Ocean Spray has broken ground on a new bottling plant outside Allentown.

The company is spending $110 million to relocate a juice bottling facility from Bordentown, N.J., to Upper Macungie Township in eastern Pennsylvania.
The company says the 315,000-square-foot plant will employ 165 workers. It’s slated to open in September of 2013.

Ocean Spray says the plant will bottle its own juices as well as Nestle’s Juicy Juice products. More than 32 million cases will roll off the production line each year.

Officials from Massachusetts-based Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. and Pennsylvania’s economic development agency participated in Tuesday’s groundbreaking ceremony.
