Occupy Philly wants students and workers to go on 99-minute strike

Teachers could have a bit of a problem on their hands at noon today, the hour Occupy Philly wants students and workers to participate in a 99-minute general strike.

The call to strike is a solidarity move for Occupy Oakland, where a war vet was injured last week during a police confrontation. OP’s strike is much lax than the one in Oakland, where participants want workers and students to skip their usual obligations and gather in the city’s downtown.

Occupy Philly just wants 99 minutes starting at noon, but is that something non-Occupiers are willing to give? We’ll find out. Tom MacDonald will be there as the clock turns to 12 p.m.
