Occupy Philly organizers say they’ve experienced surge in protesters

Organizers with Occupy Philly have announced a surge in permanent protesters and marchers, with more than 300 tents now on site.

In a statement issued by the group Sunday, organizers say the base camp community at City Hall has tripled in size during the last week.

The group says Porta-Pottys have arrived at the site and volunteer sanitation crews have been organized.

On Sunday, the group had a full day of events planned, including a march to Trader Joe’s and non-violence training.
