Obama and Romney come to Philly, NJN readies for move to New York

We’re switching things up a bit tonight. Host Dave Heller is enjoying a much-needed vacation, so when you turn 90.9 FM on at 6 p.m., don’t be surprised to hear NewsWorks blogger and frequent Fresh Air host Dave Davies.

Tonight we’ll hear a bit about jury selection in the trial for the 2006 starvation death of Danieal Kelly. But first thing’s first: Lizz Fiedler will report to us live as she covers President Barack Obama’s appearance in Philadelphia.

We’re also talking tonight with Arturo Perez. He’s a fiscal analyst with the National Conference of State Legislatures, and he’ll talk about how states are faring as they work to pass their budgets. We’ll also have some details on the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware budgets.

Jeanette Woods has a profile for us of local hospice workers. She takes a look at how workers care not only for their patients, but for those patients’ families.

Tomorrow, New Jersey Network will be transferred to New York-based TV network WNET. Peter Crimmins was in Trenton earlier this week to capture what goes on at NJN and who’s been covering New Jersey for the last four decades.

How do Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware colleges rank on the U.S. Department of Education’s list of most expensive? Let’s just say Pennsylvania took a hit.

We’ve got that and more for you tonight, so tune in as Dave Davies tries his hand at the evening show.
