Nutter names city’s new Budget Director
City Treasurer Rebecca Rynhart will replace Steve Agostini, who departed this week to become Chief Financial Officer for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter today appointed a new city Budget Director and Recovery Officer.
City Treasurer Rebecca Rynhart will replace Steve Agostini, who departed this week to become Chief Financial Officer for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
Mayor Nutter says Rynhart’s new role will be challenging.
“In a time of recession, the budget directors decisons, including the search for efficiencies and new ways of doing the public’s business with fewer resources take on huge significance.”
Rynhart says her previous experience has helped prepare her for the job.
“During my time as the city treasurer, I gained much knowledge about the city’s budget through communicating the budget information to the rating agencies and to the investors of our bonds.”
Mayor Nutter also promoted Deputy Budget Director for recovery efforts Maari Porter to Recovery Officer, who’s responsible for overseeing how the city spends its federal stimulus dollars.
