Nutter has afternoon budget briefing, Barnes awaits approval for sculpture

    Good morning, Feeders!

We’ll hear from Dave Davies and Tom MacDonald later today about Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter’s budget briefing. Ahead of that, Tom will have a story on City Council’s review of gun crimes and bail.
Peter Crimmins is already at a hearing for the Barnes Foundation, which needs approval for the installation of a sculpture on the Parkway. We’ll learn the sculpture’s fate, and Peter will also pay a visit to Settlement Music School, where Chubby Checker is stopping by for a celebration.

Maiken Scott will look into why Camden rejected a medical marijuana dispensary and what the next possible steps are. She’ll also review a study that examines the effects of sleep (or lack thereof) on various types of transit directors.

Later this week, catch NewsWorks Tonight for a breakdown of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s new mission schools and what they’ll be modeled around.
