Nutter gives District Attorney extra $2 million despite over-spending

Mayor Michael Nutter has proposed giving an extra $1.9 million to the District Attorney’s office, despite the office’s over-spending from this year’s budget.

Heard in the Hall reports an additional $1.9 million is proposed for the office — about the same being cut from the prison department.

The city says the extra money is meant to support the changes D.A. Seth Williams is leading. Next year’s budget for the office is $31 million.
