Nutter: Earlier curfew and parent fines still in effect

    A change in weather doesn’t mean a change in curfew for Philadelphia’s youth.

    Mayor Michael Nutter reminded everyone today the 9 p.m. weekend curfew for minors in Center City and University City is still in effect, and parents, you’re still looking at fines if your kid breaks the rule.

     

    The 20 rec centers with extended hours have been reduced to eight:

    Vare Recreation Center at 2600 Morris St.
    Myers Recreation Center at 5800 Kingsessing Ave.
    Kingsessing Recreation Center at 5000 Chester Ave.
    Shepard Recreation Center at 5700 Haverford Ave.
    Athletic Recreation Center at 1401-27 N. 27th St.
    McVeigh Recreation Center at 400-64 D St.
    Feltonville Recreation Center at 231-31 E. Wyoming Ave.
    Lonnie Young Recreation Center at 1100 E. Chelten Ave.

    Nutter tightened the curfew last month in response to an uptick in violent teen attacks.
