Norcross steps down from role as union leader
After 16 years leading the Southern New Jersey AFL-CIO Central Labor Council, State Sen. Donald Norcross will step down from his role.
Norcross will officially step down Labor Day, a few months ahead of his original planned retirement date in December, as the Gloucester County Times reports.
The Fifth Legislative District senator will focus on his re-election campaign and his role as assistant business manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, in addition to spending more time with family.
Norcross has endorsed the council’s secretary-treasurer, Susan Michielli, as his successor.
