No plans to close Spring City Elementary

Fear not: Spring City Elementary is not closing.

Calling the rumors of a closing “hurtful,” Spring-Ford Area School District board president Joseph Ciresi addressed the issue at Monday’s workshop meeting and said if the school were going to shut down, that process would take more than a year.

Limerick-Royersford-Spring City Patch reported from the meeting that the school has only one teacher in some grades, and prospective students are being reassigned to other schools when their enrollment at Spring City would break the classroom cap. A longer-term solution for that problem is being sought.
