No growth in Philadelphia’s commercial recycling rates

    Philadelphia’s commercial recycling rate is about 35 to 40 percent.

    That may sound impressive to some, but it falls short of the 50 percent goal, and the rate hasn’t increased in the last few years.

    As Carolyn Beeler reports for WHYY/NewsWorks, the commercial rate is about double what the residential rate is, but some business owners aren’t even aware they need to recycle.
