Prosecutors say a high school guidance counselor won’t face charges in an online post threatening any protesters who stopped her son from getting to a Philadelphia Eagles game earlier this month.
The Montgomery County district attorney’s office on Wednesday called the post “short-sighted,” “inappropriate and ill-advised” but said it lacked “the level of intent” to be considered criminal.
Prosecutors said Central Bucks West counselor MaryKate Blankenburg of Upper Gwynedd cooperated with investigators and acknowledged that the Dec. 7 Facebook post wasn’t appropriate. Prosecutors also noted that neither she nor anyone in her household owns firearms.
The (Doylestown) Intelligencer reported that Blankenburg was suspended with pay while authorities were investigating, but the superintendent was unavailable for comment Wednesday. School board president Stephen Corr declined comment, saying it was a personnel issue.
