N.J. welcomes 23 new charter schools

    New Jersey’s Department of Education has approved a record 23 charter schools. Gov. Chris Christie announced today the state has authorized nearly half of the 50 charter applicants, the Star-Ledger reports. Last year, the state approved just six charters.
