With less than a week before the primary election for a U.S. Senate seat from New Jersey, an impromptu poll finds few who can name the four Democrats and two Republicans in the running.

This reporter encountered a lot of blank stares from South Jersey commuters when asked about the Aug. 13 balloting.

Here’s a cheat sheet:

Democratic candidates

• Newark Mayor Cory Booker

• U.S. Rep. Rush Holt

• U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone

• State Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver

Republican candidates

• Former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan

• Dr. Alieta Eck
