New Jersey Transit is adding extra service for Tuesday’s holiday ‘getaway.’
Early ‘getaway’ service starts around 1 p.m. from the Port Authority Bus Terminal and from New York Penn Station, Newark Penn Station and Hoboken Terminals on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley, Morris & Essex, Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines.
Buses will operate on a regular weekday schedule on most routes, with early getaway service from the Port Authority Bus Terminal also starting around 1 p.m.
NJ Transit is also extending the Family Super Saver Fare on all trains, buses and light rail lines until Jan. 6. Usually limited to weekends, the fare allows up to two children 11 and younger to travel free with each fare-paying adult.
