N.J. student’s seatbelt safety video takes top prize in annual competition

The combination of green-screen effects, a model airplane, and a clear message landed one New Jersey student the win in an annual safety video competition.

Ryan Shriver, a senior at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology, was one of 118 high school students who competed in the 9th annual High School Video Contest.

The Gloucester County Highway Safety Taskforce chose his public service announcement video on seat belt safety as this year’s winner, reports NJ.com.

Students were given three choices for video topics: driving under the influence, texting while driving, and New Jersey’s new 100 percent seat belt slogan.
