Toms River man faces charges after fatal Parkway crash

An Ocean County man faces criminal charges after a passenger in a car he was driving died in an accident on the Garden State Parkway.

State Police say 23-year-old Kenneth Fonseca of Toms River was driving south on the Parkway early Sunday in Brick Township when the car left the roadway, hit a guardrail and went down an embankment, flipping over.

Twenty-two-year-old Britzi Flores of Toms River was pronounced dead at the scene. Fonseca and two other passengers were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.

State police tell The Star-Ledger that Fonseca has been charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license and causing a death while driving with a suspended license.
