N.J. company recalls cheese over listeria concerns
A New Jersey company says it is recalling three of its cheese products because of possible listeria contamination.
El Rancho Del Sur says its Fresh Cheese, Fresh Cheese in Banana Leaf and String Cheese may be contaminated.
The South River-based company said in a news release Friday that the products in question were distributed between February 23 and March 14 to retail stores, supermarkets and restaurants in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Listeria can sicken people with weakened immune systems and can cause miscarriages in pregnant women.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled products can return them to the place of purchase for a refund. Questions may be directed to the company at 732-967-9265.
