‘Next Great Baker’ contestant to open Philly bakery

Chad Durkin, known from season 3 of TLC’s “Next Great Baker,” is opening a bakery in Philadelphia on July 22.

Durkin is starting Kermit’s Bake Shop with chef Brian Lofink and bar-owner Adam Ritter. It is located at 2204 Washington Avenue, near 22nd Street.

The bakery is said to be “a cross between a pizzeria and a bakery, with bagels, classic cakes, pizza, gluten-free doughs, pastries and so on” where customers can order take-out from an app and get it delivered via old-fashioned delivery bike!

Durkin reached the 9th round of season 3 (which aired in February) before being eliminated.
