Newtown named one of America’s ‘Coolest Small Towns’

Well, well. It seems Newtown residents pulled through to get the borough into Budget Travel‘s top 10 “Coolest Small Towns” in America.

Back in January, Newtown was in 13th place with just 908 votes as the public worked to select the best 10 based on things like population size, an influx of new residents and hip factors like arts and restaurant scenes.

Newtown came in seventh for its “Amish country charm” with more than 15,000 of the overall 437,480 votes. The write-up in Budget Travel’s September issue focuses on two brothers-in-law who happen to hit the lottery and settled in the borough where they now run Ned’s Cigar Store on State Street.
