New life for empty brick building near Race Street Pier

Philadelphia Live Arts and Philly Fringe plan to bring a new headquarter building to an empty brick building across Delaware Avenue from the Race Street Pier, a move that could create a public and civic plaza for outdoor events.

In a story from Plan Philly reporter Kellie Patrick Gates, the two organizations plan to have 2,500 feet of office space in the new home.

According to Plan Philly, the project would include; a theater, between 4,000 and 5,000 square feet in size, an indoor gastro-pub to remain open year around and, during the warmer months of the year, and a 225 seat picnic-style outdoor dining venue.

Plan Philly reports the two organizations have an agreement of sale and a closing date for late November.
