New Jersey organization helps to send 33 kids to camp

Summer camp can end up being a valuable experience for kids, one reason why the Fresh Air Fund, based in Newark, New Jersey is putting up the cash for more than two dozen kids to go to camp.

The Star-Ledger reports the New Jersey organization has provided nearly $29,000 to help 33 children attend Camp Merry Heart this summer.

According to the story, the sleep-away camp can cost up to $1,918, a price that is difficult to afford for many families.

On Wednesday, the fund and several other organizations were honored for their donations and scholarships for campers.
