New Jersey Attorney General moves on bath salt ban
New Jersey Attorney General Paula Dow has filed emergency rules to immediately ban the sale of bath salts, the Associated Press reports.
Anyone who turns in their bath salts by May 8 will not face criminal charges.
WHYY’s Phil Gregory will have the full story on the ban, which classifies the six substances used to make bath salts as Class 1 controlled dangerous substances. Manufacture, distribution, possession or sale of the chemicals could result in three to five years in prison and a fine of up to $25,000.
