New Jersey 9/11 memorial makes no reference to actual event

    DedicatedSeptember 11, 201110 Year Anniversary

So reads the 9/11 memorial in Washington Township, N.J., followed by a list of names of the current township mayor, administrator and committee members.

What you won’t find on the memorial, built two days before its Sept. 11 unveiling, is what the marker is supposed to commemorate, or the names of anyone who died in the attacks 10 years ago. So began a chain of I’m-not-sure-whose-decision-it-was-responses, as the Express-Times lays out today.

Adjacent to the vague headstone is a piece of WTC steel mounted on a brick platform. An additional memorial is planned, but no other details about it are available.
