New Cooper lactation station supports breastfeeding employees

Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J., has introduced a lounge for employees where they can breastfeed their infants.

The Gloucester County Times reports that the “lactation lounge,” just outside the hospital’s maternity ward, features coded door entry, curtained pumping stations and an ambient-noise fountain to ensure a private experience.

New Jersey state Health and Senior Services Commissioner Mary E. O’Dowd, said absenteeism rates often drop among employees who have lactation support.
