New bus service proposed for West Chester Pike

Efforts in Delaware and Chester counties to improve public transit along West Chester Pike have resulted in the consideration of Bus Rapid Transit — a service used in other cities that in our region, could make changes to a SEPTA route to make transit more efficient in the ‘burbs.

NewsWorks partner PlanPhilly explains in detail how low-cost changes to SEPTA’s 104 bus route could make bus travel along the Pike more efficient and more competitive with automobile use.

Several versions of a plan have been floated, but first, municipalities will have the chance to weigh in.
