New boardwalk ride bring first signs of summer at the Shore

Shore-goers will soon have a new contraption to fly, twist and swing on. Despite the rain and threat of snow, North Wildwood’s Morey’s Piers’ is hard at work on its latest ride: “it.”

The ride, which the Press of Atlantic City reports is two years in the making, will debut Memorial Day weekend after a fry-eating contest. Nothing like a bunch of fry-filled people testing out a new ride.

“It” moves at 41 mph just above the boardwalk so spectators can take in the thrill and misery from a decent vantage point.

Built at a plant in the Netherlands, the ride holds 24 people secured with lap belts and features weightlessness and positive G-forces. Anti-nausea manufacturers might want to consider a nearby advertisement.
