NBC 10 Presents: Ask the Mayor

Getting your questions and concerns to Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter couldn’t get any easier than this. But you probably won’t get a chance to ask the other mayoral candidates questions.

Tuesday, NBC 10 will host a live town hall event, Ask the Mayor. The event will be available in a number of ways to allow constituents to get in contact with Nutter. NBC 10 will air the program from 7 to 7:30 p.m., and NBC Nonstop will air it from 7 to 8 p.m. The event will also stream live on NBC Philadelphia’s website and on the NBC Philadelphia and City of Philadelphia Facebook pages.

There will also be several of ways to get your questions addressed by the mayor. On Twitter, you can reach the Mayor by using the #TweetNutter hashtag. On Facebook, you can post a question on either of the Facebook pages streaming the event. You also have the option of emailing directly at AskTheMayor@NBCPhiladelphia.com.

On person not thrilled with the event is Karen Brown. The Republican mayoral candidate wants in on the event, and according to a letter sent on her behalf to NBC, was told, “the live studio audience was by invitation only and controlled by candidate Nutter and his staff.”

Republican Committeeman Matt Wolfe wrote to the station citing the FCC’s Equal Time Provision, which requires broadcasters to allow equal air time for qualified candidates.
