National honor for Temple’s Computer Recycling Center

Not only is there such a thing as Computerworld’s Honors Laureate, but a local university has been inducted.

Temple University’s Computer Recycling Center is now part of the honors program for organizations that use technology for public welfare, as our partners at Technically Philly report.

The center opened in 2003 and refurbishes old computers to donate or sell to Temple students, nearby residents and community organizations.

The 2012 laureates will be honored at the Laureate Medal Ceremony and Awards Gala in Washington, D.C., in June.
