Mushrooms, anyone? Kennett Square celebrates Mushroom Festival

We like them on pizza, on burgers and apparently in our festivals.  State Street in Kennett Square yesterday was busy with traffic as fans of the mushroom ventured out for the 26th annual Mushroom Festival.

The Daily Local News reports the event saw thousands of visitors, getting a taste for everything from mushroom dips to portabella cheeseburgers – there were even some deep fried mushrooms on hand.

This year, the event was held from Garfield Street on the west to Willow Street on the east.

The Daily Local News reports each year the event expands into other regions of the borough.
