Multiple past violations for bus company involved in Turnpike crash

An investigation into yesterday’s Turnpike crash involving a bus from Super Luxury Tours Inc. revealed multiple safety violations within the company. The driver and a passenger from Royersford died in the crash.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s database lists nine tickets for the company in the last two years, the Pottstown Mercury and Associated Press report, for speeding and passing violations and failure to obey traffic control devices.

The one-bus, two-driver company reportedly had three accidents in 2010, and has been cited for having non-English speaking drivers.

An investigation into the condition of the bus is still underway.
