‘MTV Beach House’ returning to the Jersey Shore

“MTV Beach House” is returning to the Jersey Shore.

The Asbury Park Press reports taping will take place for less than a week in a house in the Loveladies section of Long Beach Township. The taping gets underway Thursday during an MTV Beach House Festival featuring MisterWives and Kyle and others at a park.

MTV Beach House is more about music and not the drama associated with the “Jersey Shore” reality show taped in Seaside Heights which debuted in 2009.

It will be hosted by Nessa, Cody Christian, and Chico Bean. An MTV spokesman says no one from MTV or the production company will be living at the house.

The network says it will be an “all-star beach party” in a “tricked-out, 90s-theme beach house,” alluding to the show that first aired in 1993.

“Snapchat, Twitter, and Facebook Live didn’t even exist when we last opened the MTV Beach House as the ultimate summer hangout for our audience 14 years ago,” said Matthew Newcomb, Vice President, Integrated Marketing, MTV. “We’re thrilled to partner with Mountain Dew Spiked Lemonade to bring back the Beach House in a totally updated way that speaks to a new generation of digitally native fans.”

The 1990s MTV Beach House featured hosts such as Bill Bellamy, John Norris, Kennedy, Daisy Fuentes, and Carson Daly hanging out with guests next to a pool and on the beach and playing kitschy games. Some notable musical performers included Radiohead, No Doubt, and 4 Non Blondes.

Fans can obtain a ticket to the MTV Beach House Festival by following @MTV on Twitter and retweeting designated sweepstakes tweets.
