“Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner?” – Mt. Airy USA’s annual fundraiser – was held on Saturday.
The event, hosted by the community development corporation, gives participants the chance to chat with notable Philadelphians, enjoy a catered meal, and bid on a series of silent auction prizes.
This year’s guest list included, among others, Philadelphia School District Superintendent Dr. William Hite and Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Annette John-Hall.
Five Mt. Airy restaurants provided food for the evening. They were: Earth, Bread + Brewery, Avenida, Little Jimmie’s Bakery Café, Geechee Girl Rice Café, and the Trolley Car Diner.
Estelle Richman was also honored with the Mt. Airy Lifetime Achievement Award.
Richman currently serves as the Senior Advisor to the Secretary for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She was previously the commissioner of the Philadelphia Housing Authority.
Richman was also the state’s secretary of the Department of Public Welfare under Gov. Ed Rendell and served as Philadelphia’s health commissioner.
