Movie about Immaculata basketball team debuts in Center City tonight

Originally set for release in  2008, a movie about the Immaculata University women’s basketball team will debut in Center City tonight after production rebounded from the economic crash.

Might Macs, filmed in Chester and Delaware counties, tells the story of the then-college’s 1972 basketball team — all women, because that’s what the school was.

Directed by Delco native Tim Chambers, the movie will play tonight at the Kimmel Center before a wider release next week. This months marks the 40th anniversary of the beginning of the team’s championship season.
