More than 1,000 defibrillators found during Philadelphia search challenge

Philadelphians found more than 1,100 automated external defibrillators during the MyHeartMap Challenge.

Late last year, GIS shop Azavea and researchers at Penn teamed up to ask the public to crowd source the city’s AEDs.
Because, if your coworker collapses in the office, would you know where to find the nearest defibrillator?

Technically Philly reports more than 350 teams and individuals participated in the project to help map the city’s AEDs for a $10,000 grand prize. The information will be used to compile a database and develop a mobile app.
