Montgomery County woman indicted in jihad case

Irish police have arrested seven people accused of plotting to kill Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks, a plan that may involve a Montgomery County woman now facing charges of terrorist activities.

A federal indictment released Tuesday accuses Pennsburg resident Colleen R. Larose and five co-conspirators (not yet indicted) of recruiting Jihadists on the Internet – and that LaRose agreed to carry out an assignment to kill a citizen and resident of Sweden.

The indictment also says that LaRose and her co-conspirators discussed that her appearance and American citizenship would help her blend in while carrying out her plans.

On the same day LaRose was indicted, Irish police arrested seven people in connection with an alleged plot to murder the Swedish cartoonist. He was targeted for assassination in 2007 by the leader of an Al-Qaeda faction in Iraq after he drew a cartoon of the Muslim prophet Mohammed with the body of a dog.
