Montco commissioners plan to take out short-term loan

Facing a gap in tax revenues between January and March, Montgomery County Commissioners plan to take out a short-term loan.

Narberth-Bala Cynwyd Patch reports the loan would fund first quarter expenses at around $25 million and be paid off by the end of next year. The budget will be finalized later this month, but the loan proposal didn’t come without drama. There’s unrest among some commissioners following the perjury charges against Commissioner James Matthews and the news that six county officials will lose their jobs.
