Missing 7-year-old boy found dead in a swimming pool

The search for a missing seven-year-old boy ended Friday when Isear Jeffcoat was found dead in an Oak Lane swimming pool.

According to NBC10, Jeffcoat was dropped off at his daycare center on Rising Sun Avenue early yesterday morning. Daycare workers took the victim and other children to a pool on the 6600 block of North 8th Street where he was last seen around 3 p.m.

Police conducted a search of the boy’s home, daycare center, and area around the pool before a dive team found him at the bottom of the pool, reports ABC6.

According to officials, there was “some kind of argument over a flotation device shortly before the boy was last seen,” but there’s been no word of foul play being suspected and officials continue to investigate.
