Milton Street will run against Nutter for Democratic ticket
Did you really think we’d be keeping the Street family out of Philadelphia politics? Milton Street is running for mayor. He’s out to challenge incumbent Mayor Michael Nutter for the Democratic spot.
Recently released from jail for after serving two years for tax evasion, the elder brother of former Mayor John Street talked with Metro’s Brian Hickey for two hours about his platform to fight crime, create jobs and end stop-and frisk.
Street’s got a plan for getting himself elected: he’s telling ex-offenders (Metro estimates 40,000 are released annually) and their friends and families to vote for him to form “a voting bloc that would control this city.”
We can hear Nutter laughing all the way from City Hall. Sounds like a nervous laugh.
