Middle school no longer part of Delaware’s Race to the Top Partnership Zone

Delaware’s Bayard Middle School won’t be getting the financial assistance that comes with Race to the Top attention. That’s because the school shouldn’t have been part of the Partnership Zone in the first place.

Mark Fowser reports for WHYY/NewsWorks the school ended up on the list to receive special attention and funding aimed at improvement because its grading code changes didn’t mesh with the state’s formula. That somehow qualified the school as low-performing and earned it a spot in the Partnership Zone.

The error has been corrected and a different school will join the Partnership Zone.
