Members of Freethought Society protest Chester County decision to ban tree

A group protested outside of the Historic Chester County Courthouse Saturday after a decision was made by the county to ban an atheist “Tree of Knowledge” display.

The Daily Local News reports members of the Freethought Society protested the decision, forming a human “Tree of Knowledge” during their protest.

According to the Daily Local News, the group set up a “Tree of Knowledge” from 2007 to 2009, but was denied its request for display last year by a vote from county commissioners.

According to the report, the protest went on for about an hour and ended earlier than scheduled because of cold weather.
