Media prepares for end of Delaware County SPCA’s animal control service

As the Delaware County SPCA prepares to end its animal control services, Media is developing plans to manage its own pets and strays.

The borough will now require dog owners to tag their pets with contact information, in addition to having a dog license.

The Delaware County Daily Times outlines the borough’s plans for the care of found animals. Tagging dogs with owner and contact information makes it easier to return them to their owners and could help decrease the intake at the Media Veterinary Clinic, where strays and unclaimed pets stay until they’re ready for shelter and adoption.
