Media attention gives pot-shaped candy seller a sales boost

Little did Andrew Kalan know a complaint from a Buffalo, N.Y., councilman would draw national attention to his novelty manufacturing company and even give him a sales boost.

Kalan is the CEO of Kalan LP, which sells, among other things, pot-shaped candy from its Lansdowne facility.

Kalan has commented already, but Philly mag today ran a Q&A with the CEO, who says sales might not be through the roof, but have definitely picked up in the last two days. It was even the media that brough the issue to Kalan. He wasn’t aware of the concerns in Buffalo until an Associated Press reporter gave him a call.
