McGeehan wants report on school district’s alleged test cheating

State Rep. Mike McGeehan has already expressed his frustration with the School District of Philadelphia. Back in April he called on the district to fire superintendent Arlene Ackerman, but now he’s going to the top.

McGeehan wants State Secretary of Education Ron Tomalis to release the results of an investigation into allegations of PSSA cheating at two district schools. Teachers from Roosevelt Middle School and FitzSimmons High both reported instances of cheating by administrators to help elevate the schools’ standardized test scores.

Kristen Graham reports for the Inquirer McGeehan has written to Tomalis requesting either findings or the status of the probe.
