At this hour, Mayor Nutter, along with the mayors of Salt Lake City, Carmel Indiana, and Bridgeport Connecticut, is meeting with HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan in Washington to push for continued federal support for the Community Development Block Grant Program. The program attempts to expand housing and job opportunities in low income neighborhoods.
Tonight, Mayor Nutter will be back in Philly to attend a screening of “Waiting for Superman,” about the failings of public education in America. He’ll sit in on a panel discussion afterward with schools Superintendent Arlene Ackerman at the Constitution Center.
