A mayor in New Jersey is taking weight loss to a whole new level after creating the “Drop a Ton” program.

According to The Star-Ledger, Woodbridge Mayor John McCormac is offering prizes to anyone who wants to join him in losing weight.

The mayor has called the new program “Woodbridge Drop a Ton” and has pledged $1 to support local food pantries for every pound residents promise to drop.

The program even has its own Facebook page for residents to register how much they intend to lose by Halloween.
