Masked gunmen shoot man visiting family in West Oak Lane

A 29-year-old man visiting his family in West Oak Lane was listed in critical condition at Albert Einstein Medical Center on Friday after being shot multiple times by two gunmen wearing masks and hoodies the previous night.

Police said the man, who does not live in Philadelphia, was sitting on a front porch in the 7900 block of Fayette St. with his cousin around 11:48 p.m. when the pair emerged from an alley and opened fire.

The victim was reportedly shot up to 10 times, suffering wounds to the legs and upper torso.

While police had no description of the gunmen other than what they wore at the time, a witness who heard “a loud banging at the door” before shots rang out told NewsWorks that people were taken into custody at the scene and a car sped off.
