Marlboro Police searching for missing autistic man

Marlboro Police are searching for an autistic man who has been missing since late Tuesday night.

Michael Karwan, described as a high-functioning autistic 19-year-old, left home voluntarily after an argument with his parents, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and green sneakers, according to Marlboro-Colts Neck Patch. He was last seen near School Road West in Marlboro.

Karwan is described as 6-feet tall and 220 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair, according to police.

Karwan, who is likely traveling on foot, attempted to check into a Freehold hotel on Tuesday night but was turned away due to lack of identification, the Asbury Park Press reports

A $25,000 reward is offered for information that leads to Karwan, who may be drawn to businesses that offer comic books and movies, the newspaper reports.

Anyone who spots Karwan is asked to contact Marlboro Det. John Bise at (732) 536-0100.
