Markell’s veto means motorcycle riders still need helmets

    Del. Gov. Jack Markell has a vetoed a bill approved shortly before the state passed its budget earlier this month. Markell’s veto shut down House Bill 95 today, which would have repealed the law that requires motorcyclists to carry helmets.

    The guv says the law saves lives, and according to the Associated Press, the state law requires bikers to carry safety helmets while riding, if they’re not wearing the helmets.
